Landscaping Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare.
Garden landscaping across Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare, from a sketch on the site visit to a finished garden. Hard landscaping, lawns, planting and the walls, steps and paths that hold it together, built by the same crew from the first day to the handover.

A good garden is mostly levels and drainage, with the planting on top. Get those right and the garden looks after itself.
We design and build gardens for houses across the three counties: clearance and levelling, paths, patios and steps, raised beds and retaining walls, drainage, new lawns from seed or turf, and planting matched to the soil and the light.
We walk the garden with you, sketch on site, and send a written quote within 48 hours. If you go ahead with the build, the design fee comes off the invoice.

Design that starts in the garden.
The site visit is where the design happens. We look at where the sun is at the times you are actually in the garden, where the water sits after rain, what the neighbours can see, how you get from the back door to the bins and the shed, and what is worth keeping. A mature tree or a good hedge is years of growth that no budget buys back, so the design works around it rather than through it.
The sketch that comes out of that is a plan of the garden with the levels, the surfaces, the beds and the planting areas marked, plus a note of what each part costs. You can take it elsewhere to build, or go ahead with us and the design fee comes off the build invoice. Most people want a garden they can use and keep, not a show garden, and the design is honest about the maintenance it will need.
Hard landscaping.
This is the structure: the paths, patios and steps; the retaining walls that turn a slope into two usable levels; the raised beds in sleeper, block or stone; the edging that keeps gravel off the lawn and lawn out of the beds. It is built the same way as our driveways and patios, on a compacted sub-base with the falls set so the garden drains, because a wall or a path that moves in the first winter takes the planting with it.
Drainage is designed in, not bolted on. A garden that floods at the bottom gets a French drain or a soakaway; a patio against the house falls away from it; a lawn on clay gets the top layer improved so it does not sit wet.

Lawns and planting.
A new lawn is laid on prepared, levelled and firmed topsoil, either turfed for an instant finish or seeded for a stronger lawn a season later; we say which suits the garden and the time of year. Beds are dug, improved with compost and planted to a plan that fits the soil, the aspect and the care you are willing to give. A north-facing bed in shade gets shade plants; a dry bank gets plants that like it dry. We would rather plant fewer things that thrive than fill a bed with plants that struggle.
Trees and hedges are set for the size they will be, not the size they are on the day, and you get care notes at handover for the first year so the lawn and the planting establish.
Landscaping across Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare.
In the Dublin suburbs the job is usually a back garden of a semi or terrace: a tired lawn, a cracked patio and a fence that has seen better days, turned into a garden that works. Materials come in through the side passage or the house and spoil goes out the same way, and the days are planned around that. In Wicklow and Kildare the gardens are bigger, the ground is more varied, and the work is more about levels, drainage and boundaries. The same crew and the same build-up apply on both.
Skip hire and licensed waste removal are in the quote. The site is tidied every evening, and before and after photos are sent when the job is finished.

Where we draw the line.
We design and build residential gardens. We do not do tree surgery beyond small trees and hedges, and we do not do large earthworks or engineered retaining structures that need a structural engineer; where a wall needs one we will say so before quoting. Regular garden maintenance after the build is a separate service and we can quote it once the garden is in.

Can you take on design only, or do you need to build it as well?
Either works. You can pay for the design and take it elsewhere to build, or commission both and the design fee comes off the build invoice.
Will you keep planting that's already in place?
Where the existing planting is healthy and works in the new design, yes. We'd rather lift and protect a mature shrub than rip it out.
How long does a back-garden rebuild take?
A typical 60 to 100m² rebuild runs eight to twelve working days on site, plus a week of planting. Larger projects are scheduled in phases.
Do you charge for a garden design?
There is a fee for the design, and it comes off the build invoice if you go ahead with us. You can also take the design and have someone else build it.
What time of year is best for landscaping?
Hard landscaping can be done most of the year outside a frost. Turf and planting take well in spring and autumn. If a project spans both, the build goes first and the planting is scheduled for the right season.
